Introduction to Fly-Fishing
A short message from William Allen- Wilderness Fly-Fishing Adventures.
Fly fishing is becoming increasingly popular, and my prediction is that
it's popularity will dramatically increase over the next few years.
A relaxing almost graceful hobby with many intricacies to learn and
master make fly fishing appealing.
Some say it's a sport, others call it a science. Many would call fly fishing an obsession.
For the purpose of this site, we will label fly fishing as a hobby. Like most hobbies, there is always something new to learn.
Getting started can be a daunting task; there is a variety of fly fishing equipment, some needed and some luxury. Just choosing a rod and line can be a confusing decision with the amount of choices available.
Many believe fly fishing to be a "rich man's" hobby, but really, you can get started with everything you need for less than $100. You will find, however, as with most hobbies...once you get started, there always seems to be some new piece of equipment that you are going to want. Along the same lines, there is always going to be something new to learn.
